Hong Kong starts reopening venues after lockdown
Gaming arcades and mahjong parlours are open from today as the country moves out of Covid-19 lockdown.
Hong Kong.- Authorities have started reopening public entertainment venues as part of the process of lifting Covid-19 lockdown measures .
From today, groups of eight people are allowed to congregate together after 16 days without any new Coronavirus cases.
According to Hong Kong Chief Executive, Carrie Lam, certain social distancing measures will be eased after more than a month of closures.
Fitness centres, gaming arcades, mahjong parlours, amusement and massage centres, beauty salons and cinemas are all allowed to open but with temperature checks mandatory.
Distancing measures remain in place and schools will not start to open back up until May 27.
