HKJC announces record prizes to celebrate Chinese New Year
The Hong Kong Jockey Club will offer HK$228m (US$29.29m) in prizes, including the largest-ever Chinese New Year Snowball draw.
Hong Kong.- The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) has announced a prize fund of HK$228m (US$29.29m) in prizes for February to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
On Chinese New Year Raceday, scheduled for January 31, the HKJC will be offering HK$20.8m (US$2.67m) in prize money. The projected payout for a single HK$10 winning ticket is estimated to reach HK$18m. An additional HK$2.8m will be allocated to the Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool,
The HKJC also plans to improve prizes for the remaining seven local race meetings from February 5 to 26.
Record Chinese New Year snowball
The Mark Six Chinese New Year Snowball draw will take place on February 2, featuring a snowball amount of HK$150m (US$19.27m). The First Division Prize Fund is estimated to reach a record HK$188m (US$24.15m) for a single HK$10 winning unit.
All betting pools for the Chinese New Year Raceday will open at noon on January 30. Tickets for the Chinese New Year snowball draw will be available from January 25.
In the 2023/24 financial year, the HKJC contributed a record HK$40.1bn (US$5.16bn) to the community: HK$29.9bn (US$3.84bn) in betting duty, profits tax and Lotteries Fund contributions and HK$10.2bn (US$1.31bn) in approved charity donations.
