Galaxy donates US$2.5 million in fight against coronavirus

The donation will be used to purchase medical supplies and equipment in urgent demand in Hubei Province. 

Macau.- In order to help the region to fight against the pneumonia outbreak, Galaxy Entertainment Group has followed the likes of Melco and Meg-Star Group in donating MOP20 million (US$2.5 million) to Hubei Province. 

The money will be used to purchase medical supplies and equipment in urgent demand in the region. 

In addition, Galaxy’s charitable foundation will donate MOP5 million (US$620.000) to assist the Macau in its fight against Coronavirus.

The cash will help local residents in need, including young children, students and the elderly. 

Galaxy is not the first operator to donate money to the cause. Last week, Meg-Star International Charity Association, the charity arm of the Meg-Star Group, donated MOP$10 million (€1.1 million) and Macau IR operator Melco Resorts & Entertainment announced that it would donate HK$20 million (US$2.6 million) to purchase medical supplies and support local communities in Wuhan and Hubei.
