China reveals plans for US$900m esports centre
Located in Shanghai, the 6,000-capacity arena will host more than 300 matches a year. It will also include a themed hotel and museum.
China.- Plans have been revealed for a US$900m tower and esports centre in the Minhang District in the south of Shanghai.
The Shanghai International New Cultural and Creative Esports Center will cover 500,000 square metres and will boast a 6,000-capacity arena.
According to media reports, the venue is expected to host at least 300 esports matches every year.
The site will also include a five-star video game-themed hotel, a breakdancing facility, an indoor skydiving venue and an esports museum.
It will also become the corporate headquarters for Edward Gaming (EDG), a subsidiary of SuperGen that is developing the park.
The project is expected to be completed in early 2023.
