Tech giant celebrates Nigeria’s cultural richness with local language rollout on Galaxy S25, A56, A36 and A26 models in a boost to online gambling brands.

Lagos, Nigeria: In a powerful move for digital inclusion, Samsung Electronics has announced that it has now introduced local language support in Nigeria on Galaxy smartphones. The languages now available to locals are Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba.

This feature, now live on the Galaxy S25, A56, A36 and A26, marks a massive step in Samsung’s mission blending cutting-edge innovation with local identity, ensuring that millions of Nigerians can connect with their devices – not just through screens, but through language.

Users can activate the new languages by going to: Settings>Language & Input > Select Language.

Attendees at the launch in Lagos were widely adorned in these cultural attires, according to a report by the Independent. Cultural music also filled the venue.

Impact on online casinos

The rollout could also have a significant impact on the growing online casino gaming sector in Nigeria. By enabling players to navigate gaming platforms in their preferred local language, it is helping create a more welcoming and intuitive experience.

This opens the door for more users to enjoy online casino games confidently, understand gameplay and terms more easily, and ultimately participate in the digital economy on their own terms.

The tech giant confirmed it is working to expand local language support to even more devices soon.
