William Hill leaves Israel
The UK bookmaker announced the closing of its Tel Aviv office in order to shift operations to its London facility.
UK.- William Hill has revealed that the office in Tel Aviv, Israel is set to close and that some of its workers will be relocated to other locations, as the company is getting ready to shift all major operations to Europe, and most specifically to London.
As revealed by LeapRate, authorities from William Hill met with key employees to offer them relocation to the head office in the UK or some other place in Europe, as they want to consolidate the online sector of the business. the rising prices in real estate and the low level of unemployment has forced Israel to become an expensive place for companies that want to develop their businesses. Whilst William Hill started operating almost a decade ago in the territory, in 2013 decided to acquire Playtech’s holding in the company for £424 million.
Earlier this year, William Hill celebrated their 16 percent jump in online betting revenue in 2017. The British bookmaker explained that it was due to its concerted push that included a new Android app for the business and a website renovation. The company reported to be on track to make annual savings of £40 million by the end of this year. The group will use that money as part of the business renovation that includes delivering a global technology platform to catch up with rivals in the online betting market.
