Virginia sports betting handle increases in March
The Sports betting handle was up 8.5 per cent year-over-year.
US.- The Virginia Lottery has released its report on sports wagering activity for March. The handle was $689.6m, up 8.5 per cent year-over-year and up 23.8 per cent from February’s $556.8m. Mobile wagers reached $683.1m while bettors wagered $6.5m at retail locations.
Adjusted gross receipts totalled $45m. Fourteen mobile operators and three casinos are authorised to accept wagers in the state. The Virginia Lottery does not publish a full breakdown of operator performance. However, eleven operators reported net positive adjusted gross revenue (AGR), leading to $6.8m in tax payments for the month. Virginia bettors won $638.9m for a 7.35 per cent operator win percentage.
Casino gaming revenue at Hard Rock Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth, and Caesars Virginia totalled $85.2m, up 13.4 per cent from February’s $75.1m, reaching a new record. Slot revenue totalled $63.2m, while table games revenue was $21.9m.
Caesars Virginia reported $35.9m in adjusted gross gaming revenue, $26m from 1,479 slot machines and $9.9m from 100 table games. Rivers Casino Portsmouth generated $27.8m, including $19.8m from 1,423 slots and $7.9m from 84 table games. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol totalled $21.3m, with $17.3m from 1,444 slots and $3.9m from 73 table games.
