Sports betting in Connecticut: handle hits record $214.4 in September
The state posted $26.6m in gross gaming revenue (GGR).
US.- Connecticut’s sports betting handle was $214.4m in October, up 18.5 per cent from September 2023 and 65.9 per cent from August 2024. According to the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection, $204.9m was from online betting and $9.5m to retail sportsbooks.
The state posted $26.6m in gross gaming revenue (GGR), up 41.5 per cent year-over-year and up 94.2 per cent from August. This surpasses the previous high of $24.9m reported in January. Online betting reported $25.3m, while retail’s share was $1.3m.
FanDuel and partner Mohegan Sun led the online market, registering $11.7m in revenue from a $69.4m handle for a 16.86 per cent hold. Fanatics and CT Lottery Corp reported revenue of $1.2m off a $9.1m handle.
Connecticut’s Mohegan Sun debuted a weekly live sports betting podcast in September. The Sportsbook Live broadcasts every Thursday, with Mike “Mut” Mutnansky, a sports radio personality, Eytan Shander, a sports radio and TV personality, and Mohegan Sun FanDuel’s Sportsbook general manager Brad Bryant.

Earlier this year, the Connecticut Lottery and Fanatics Betting and Gaming opened a retail sportsbook at Total Mortgage Arena in Bridgeport. Located near the main parking garage entrance of the Total Mortgage Arena, the venue has more than 2,300 square feet and offers betting windows, self-service betting kiosks from Suzohapp and high-definition TVs.
The sportsbook offers viewing experiences and betting markets for major sports, including professional and college football, basketball, hockey, baseball, tennis, soccer, golf, MMA, and boxing. The location also has a restaurant.
