Soaring Eagle Gaming authorised to launch online casino and sports betting in Michigan
Eagle Casino and Sports has partnered with platform provider GAN.
US.-The Michigan Gaming Control Board has authorised Soaring Eagle Gaming, the Saginaw Chippewa tribe’s gaming arm, to launch online casino and sports betting. Operating under the brand name Eagle Casino and Sports, it has partnered with platform provider GAN. It’s the state’s 15th operator.
Henry Williams, executive director, Michigan Gaming Control Board, said: “Michigan now has a full complement of 15 Internet gaming and sports betting providers with the authorization of Eagle Casino and Sports. All of Michigan’s federally recognized tribes are offering Internet gaming and sports betting. I congratulate the Saginaw Chippewa tribe as they expand their gaming offerings.”
In November, Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort announced its partnership with Kambi Group and GAN to launch the online Eagle Casino & Sports platform in Michigan.
Michigan launched Internet gaming and sports betting in January 2021. Online poker went live in Michigan after Flutter Entertainment’s Stars Casino and Fox Bet launched their platforms. The brands obtained licences through a deal with Odawa Casino, operated by the Little Traverse Bay Bands of Odawa Indians.
Michigan sees record online gaming revenue in February
Michigan’s online gaming gross receipts hit a new record in February but combined online gambling revenue including sports betting fell from the previous month. Online casino and poker generated revenue of $122.8m while Michigan´s commercial and tribal online casino gaming and sports betting operators reported a combined $145.3m in gross online gaming and sports betting receipts.
