Michigan sees record online gaming revenue in February
However, combined online gambling figures including sports betting were down month-on-month.
US.- Michigan’s online gaming gross receipts hit a new record in February but combined online gambling revenue including sports betting fell from the previous month. Online casino and poker generated revenue of $122.8m while Michigan´s commercial and tribal online casino gaming and sports betting operators reported a combined $145.3m in gross online gaming and sports betting receipts.
The total receipts decreased 6.8 per cent from January’s record of $155.9m but they were up by 62.9 per cent from February 2021 when legal online sports betting launched in the state. Online gaming gross receipts exceeded the previous record of $121.8m set in December. Gross sports betting receipts were $22.5m, down 35.2 per cent from January but up 136.7 per cent year-on-year from $9.5m.
February’s sports betting handle was $398.4m, down 19.8 per cent compared with January but up 32 per cent year-on-year.
