Resort in Romania could include casino

Investors in Romania will relaunch the resort and are expecting to include a casino in the complex.

Romania.- The Lebada Luxury Resort & Spa in the Danube Delta went through a €20 million investment after local entrepreneurs Iulian Robu and Constantin Căpăţână bought the facility for €3 million in 2017. The owners will relaunch the resort in May and are hoping to include a casino as well.

The tax agency ANAF acquired the facility and then sold it to recover damages owed to the state by a convicted businessman, profit.ro reported. The two entrepreneurs that acquired the facility renovated and extended the former hotel complex in Delta Danube.

“We have a casino building, but we are waiting for the regulations in place,” said Laurentiu Niculae, general manager Lebada Luxury Resort & SPA. The re-opening of the building comes amid discussions from lawmakers that want to extend the special fiscal regime to gambling operations located on islands, such as Danube Delta.

As Romania Insider detailed, the property is located in the heart of Danube Delta. The complex has a land of approximately four hectares and in 2018 the surface of the buildings increased by 65%. Furthermore, the facility features 140 accommodation rooms for guests.
