PointsBet Canada signs deal with Alpine Canada as official sportsbook
The multi-year partnership starts with the current 2021-2022 season.
Canada.- PointsBet Canada and Alpine Canada Alpin (ACA) have announced a new partnership. Through the multi-year agreement that starts with the current 2021-2022 season, PointsBet will become ACA’s official sportsbook. ACA is the governing body for alpine, para-alpine, and ski cross racing in Canada. It also represents Canadian ski coaches, providing education, certification, insurance, and compliance with the coaching code of conduct.
Scott Vanderwel, chief executive officer of PointsBet Canada said: “PointsBet Canada is committed to bringing our nation’s fans gold medal experiences, and we are excited to be partnering with our world-class Canadian skiers as they follow their dreams and represent our great country on the world stage.”
Therese Brisson, Alpine Canada’s CEO and president, added: “Alpine Canada is thrilled to welcome PointsBet to the ACA corporate family. They are a true Canadian operator in an exciting emerging space, and their support of athletes and the ski community in Canada is a wonderful reflection of that.”
Mags Doehler, VP partnerships and marketing at Alpine Canada, commented: “It was important for ACA to partner with an operator that had a stellar track record as a safe, legal market operator.”
Nic Sulsky, chief commercial officer of PointsBet Canada, said: “Having lived in Mont-Tremblant, I loved watching and cheering on world champions like Erik Guay. The speed and excitement of ski racing is unparalleled, which is why we jumped at the opportunity to partner with Alpine Canada.”
PointsBet Canada has joined the National Hockey League Alumni Association (NHLAA) as their exclusive sports betting partner in Canada and official partner in the US. The firm has also agreed to become the official and exclusive sports betting partner of Curling Canada. The firm will also sponsor the Curling Canada Season of Champions event during the 2022-23 season.
PointsBet’s expansion into Canada was powered after the launch of single-event sports betting in the country after Bill C-18 was passed through Canada’s senate in June.
