PhilWeb acquires more eGames sites
The Philippine operator bought a fourth Pagcor site even if the regulator is against those parlors.
Philippines.- Philippine-listed technology provider PhilWeb Corporation revealed during a filing to the Philippine Stock Exchange that it acquired through a subsidiary eGames sites from I-3 Gamers, Inc. in exchange for 225,000 PhilWeb shares, CalvinAyre reported.
With the new acquisition through BigGame Inc, PhilWeb has bought four Pagcor eGamos parlors. Chairmanship of philWeb, Gregorio Ma. Araneta III, told the news outlet that the transactions were made to support the operators that worked with them in the last few years. Moreover, he said that he’s hopeful that the company will be able to renew the licenses with Pagcor, as they expired in August 2016.
Back in June, it was announced by Andrea Domingo that PhilWeb could operate in the country again if it only choses a single function. PhilWeb was working as a provider, own to pick just one. “They can still participate. They can own the station or they can provide games. Either you own the station where people play or you buy the games from other. You don’t provide the games anymore. Audit service is going to be different,” he had said.
