Kevin Hall named Virginia Lottery’s executive director
Hall previously served as executive director of the lottery from 2018 to 2022.
US.- Virginia Governor Abigail Spanberger has appointed Kevin Hall to serve as executive director of the Virginia Lottery. Hall previously served in the role from 2018 to 2022, during which time the Lottery launched its online iLottery platform and implemented sports betting and casino regulatory programmes.
Hall has held senior leadership positions in Virginia state government and on Capitol Hill. He also served as a senior communications and policy adviser to senator Mark Warner in Washington. Since 2022, he has worked as a public policy and communications consultant.
Hall commented: “Serving as executive director was the most meaningful and rewarding work of my career, and it’s a privilege to return to a job I genuinely loved. The Virginia Lottery has a simple but powerful mission: generate funding for Virginia’s public schools. Every day, the work done by the people in this agency helps make that happen. I’m grateful to Governor Spanberger for the opportunity to serve again, and I’m excited to get back to work.
“The Lottery has been incredibly successful for almost 40 years, but we can’t stand still. The gaming landscape is continuously evolving, and our job is to make sure the Lottery remains innovative, responsible, and worthy of the public’s trust while continuing to deliver strong results for Virginia’s schools.”
The Virginia Lottery’s report on casino gaming activity for April showed revenue of $99m, up 25.6 per cent year-over-year. Slots generated $75m and table games $24m.
