Pennsylvania to host a public hearing for a Philadelphia casino license renewal
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will host a public hearing to take comments on the Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack licence renewal.
US.- The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board will host a public hearing on June 30 to take comments on its licence renewal for Harrah’s Philadelphia Casino & Racetrack in Delaware County.
Harrah’s Chester Downs and Marina LLC has a Category 1 Slot Machine Operator licence.
Citizens, public officials and community groups can register to speak at the hearing through the PGCB’s website. They can also submit written testimony via email, fax or mail, until June 28.
The two-step process for the renewal requirement is as follows:
The June 30 public hearing will be held before the Director of the PGCB’s Office of Hearings and Appeals for the purpose of receiving documentary evidence, hearing testimony and building a record which the Board will use in its licensing decision. The hearing record, along with a report from the Director of Hearings and Appeals, will be transmitted to the Board.
The second step is to hold a separate public hearing in Harrisburg at a later date where Harrah’s Chester Downs and Marina, LLC representatives will offer evidence and oral arguments. At that time, the Board members can ask additional questions.
After that, the PGCB will decide whether the licensee remains eligible and, if so, renew the permit for a five-year period.
