Ohio sports betting handle rises in September
The handle increased 12 per cent year-over-year.
US.- Ohio’s sports betting handle totalled $967m in September, up 12 per cent year-over-year and 45.9 per cent from August 2025. It’s the third-highest monthly total since the market launched in January 2023.
Of the total handle, $949.9m was bet online and $17m was bet at retail locations. The Ohio Casino Control Commission (OCCC) reported that gross gaming revenue (GGR) was $77.77m, down 30.6 per cent year-over-year. The hold was 8 per cent, down five points from the same month in 2024. Tax revenue was $15.6m.
FanDuel generated a handle of $306.1m and revenue of $32.8m, DraftKings reported a handle of $342.7m but lower revenue of $21.6m. bet365 posted a handle of 75.8m and revenue of 6.8m, while BetMGM reported a handle of 60.4m and revenue of 4.1m.
As for casino revenue, Jack Cleveland Casino, Hollywood Casino Columbus, Hollywood Toledo and Hard Rock Cincinnati generated a combined $89m in August, up 3.9 per cent year-over-year and almost level with July’s $88.9m. Slot machines accounted for $66m, up 4.4 per cent, and table games $23m, up 2.5 per cent.
