Colorado sports betting increases in September

US.- The Colorado Division of Gaming has released its monthly sports betting report for September. The sports betting handle totalled $608.7m, up 45.91 per cent from August 2025 and 8.14 per cent year-over-year. Gaming gross revenue (GGR) totalled $46m, with $45.7m from online and $284,920 from retail locations.

In terms of handle, football led the market with $193.4m: $191.5m from online bets and $2.04m from retail, followed by parlays/combinations with $166m ($165.6 from online and $797,852 from retail). Baseball generated $73.7m ($72.9m online and $806,293 from retail).

Taxes totalled $3.2m. That’s a decrease of 12.66 per cent from August 2025 and 20.09 per cent from September 2024.

In the fiscal year to date, the total amount of wagers stands at $1.4bn, up 9.76 from the same period in 2024 Tax has reached $9.6m, which is 9.8 per cent higher than the same period last year.

Director of gaming Christopher Schroder said: “Colorado continues to demonstrate a strong and responsible sports betting market. These figures reflect not only the public’s interest but also our ongoing commitment to using this revenue to benefit the state’s critical water initiatives. As we see these results, we also remind everyone to play responsibly.”

The state’s sports betting wagers and taxes set new records in fiscal year 2024-25. Players wagered $6.3bn, $287m more than in the previous year and 130 per cent more than in the first full fiscal year of sports betting in Colorado, in 2020-21.
