Massachusetts’ three casinos see record revenue in October

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has reported that gross gaming revenue reached $96m last month.

US.- The Massachusetts Gaming Commission has reported that Plainridge Park Casino (PPC), MGM Springfield and Encore Boston Harbor generated $96m in gross gaming revenue (GGR) in October, breaking the state record of $95.74m set in July.

The state’s revenue figure was an 8 per cent increase from the $88m reported in September. MGM Springfield generated $21.4m from slot machines and table games, up from $19.4m in September. Table game revenue was approximately $4.6m and slots revenue about $16.9m.

Encore Boston Harbor saw $62.8m compared to $57.5m in September. Table revenues were approximately $30.6m and slots about $32.2m. Massachusetts’ third casino, Plainridge Park, which has slots only, took $11.7m in gross gaming revenue, a decrease from September, when gaming revenue totalled approximately $12m.

The taxes paid by the casinos to the state totalled approximately $26.8m in October. To date, the Commonwealth has collected approximately $921m in taxes and assessments from PPC, MGM and Encore since the respective openings of each gaming facility.
