Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana takes $7.42m in first 16 days
The casino in Shreveport-Bossier opened last month.
US.- The Cordish Companies‘ new Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana generated $7.42m in revenue in the first 16 days following its launch on February 13. Despite being open only two weeks of the month, it saw the highest number of admissions in the Shreveport-Bossier City market in February at 96,675. Bally’s followed with 90,917 admissions, while Margaritaville Casino saw 82,469, the Horseshoe Casino 63,019, Boomtown 40,758, and Sam’s Town 32,789.
According to figures from the Louisiana Gaming Control Board (LGCB), The Live! Casino opening does not seem to have harmed the adjusted gross revenue of Margaritaville Casino or Boomtown Casino but may have impacted on the Horseshoe Casino and Bally’s.
Margaritaville Casino generated $14.73m in February, up 5 per cent from January, and Boomtown reported $3.57m, up 7 per cent. Horseshoe Casino reported $8.55m, down 13.4 per cent. Bally’s Casino totalled $8.25m in revenue, down 6.2 per cent from January, while Sam’s Town posted revenue of $3.04m, up 16.5 per cent from the $2.61m reported in January.

Live! Casino & Hotel Louisiana covers 47,000 square feet and has over 1,000 slots and electronic table games and 40 live table games, a DraftKings Sportsbook, hotel, pool and fitness centre. There’s a 25,000-square-foot multi-purpose event centre and various dining and entertainment options.
Louisiana sports betting handle increases in February
Louisiana’s sports betting handle totalled $381.2m in February, up 39 per cent from February 2024’s $274.8m. Mobile betting generated $355.7m, up 41 per cent, and retail betting $25.5m, up 18 per cent.
Net proceeds from sports betting were up by 90 per cent year-over-year to $47.6m. Of the total, $45.1m came from mobile betting and $2.5m from retail betting. Parlay betting led the market with net proceeds of $31.1m while mobile betting net proceeds from American football were negative -$1.2m. Net proceeds earned the state $7m in betting tax, up 87 per cent from February 2024.
