Lakeside Inn and Casino to auction assets

The Lakeside Inn and Casino permanently closed its doors in April 2020. Now its slots, gaming tables and other assets are coming up for auction.

US.- The Lakeside Inn and Casino in Nevada is to auction assets online, including a craps table that’s one of the longest in Nevada.

The auction, which will take place March 4 – 7, will see slot machines, poker tables, kitchen equipment, hotel room furniture and other memorabilia sold to the highest bidders.

The 35-year-old casino had  295 slots and six tables, including four tables in a dedicated poker room. The venue also had a sportsbook and a 115-room hotel.

Stemmel Auctions, which is hosting the event, will release a catalogue of the items up for purchase in the coming weeks.

A difficult time for Nevada

Lakeside was forced to close in March 2020 along with other casinos in Nevada in a bid to curb the spread of Covid-19.

As a gaming firm, the company was ineligible to access the first found of funding from the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) and it announced its permanent closure in April.

While restrictions in Nevada were eased in June, a new reduced capacity limit was announced in December. That will be in place until at least mid February.

While figures have not yet been released for December, gaming revenues at Nevada properties were already seeing poor numbers in November.
