Ohio’s JACK Cleveland Casino celebrated its 10th anniversary this past weekend.

US.- JACK Cleveland Casino has celebrated its 10-year anniversary. The Ohio venue opened its doors on May 14, 2012. Since then, the casino has attracted more than 21 million visitors

According to a release from JACK Entertainment, the casino has paid more than $700m in gaming taxes benefitting the city of Cleveland and its schools. It’s also donated more than $17m to local organisations including University Hospitals, the American Cancer Society, Downtown Cleveland Alliance and the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.

“We knew from the start that a casino would bring a missing element and energy to Northeast Ohio, which is why we worked so hard to make it a reality,” said Matt Cullen, chairman of the Board of JACK Entertainment. “The region has welcomed us warmly from day one, and we’re proud to have become such an integral part of the community.”

Last month, the company launched its betJACK online and mobile sportsbook. In anticipation of Ohio’s sports gaming market launch, the platform has made its debut as a free-to-play book: customers can bet on sporting events, but only with free tokens and no money involved.

Also in April, JACK Cleveland Casino unveiled a revamped and much more prominent poker room. The venue had a poker room since it opened as a Horseshoe casino in 2012, but it was somewhat hidden on the third floor.

The upgraded poker room covers 6,400 square feet and features 26 poker tables. It hosts cash games and daily tournaments, featuring buy-ins for players with different levels of experience.

Ohio casino revenue in April

The Ohio Casino Control Commission has reported that the state’s eleven licensed casinos and racinos brought in more than $215.6m in April. The figure fell just short of the record $216m generated in March. Revenue for the year to date is $782m.

Hard Rock Cincinnati placed first among venues with $24.4m, followed by Hollywood Columbus with $24.3m. Jack Cleveland Casino reported $23.1m and Hollywood Toledo $21.1m.
