Iowa casinos get ready for sports betting

The operator of the Wild Rose Casino and Resort announced it’s getting ready for the potential legalisation of the segment in the state.

US.- Sports betting continues to reach further states in the US and Iowa is one of the top candidates for imminent legalisation in 2019. The potential arrival of the segment in the state has the Wild Rose Casino and Resort getting ready to take the necessary steps for its a possible implementation in the short term.

“I don’t know what’s going to happen with the election happening,” General Manager Steve Nauman said. “There’s going to be some new faces. I don’t want to say we’re starting over as an industry but there’s a lot of new faces in there,” he added as he remains hopeful that the topic will be discussed in January.

“The incentive is to bring new people in,” Nauman added. “It’s a younger crowd. Our clientele, a lot of it’s older. A younger generation, they need more activity to keep them going than a lot of our machines are.”

“It’s not like we think you bet on who’s going to win the game or there’s a point spread or you bet on how many points are going to be scored,” the official stated. “With this mobile device you’re betting on ‘Is he going to make this field goal?’ ‘Is he going to get a hit?’ ‘Are they going to get a first down?’ I mean it’s fluid,” he forecasted.
