Florida suspects two poker rooms
Two poker rooms in the State of Florida have been accused of illegal gambling services.
US.- Florida authorities have exposed two poker salons by accusing operators of administrating illegal house-banked gaming services. According to Florida’s regulations, house-banked games are those “in which the house is a participant in the game, taking on players, paying winners, and collecting from losers or in which the cardroom establishes a bank against which participants play.”
Currently, only the casino operating Seminole native tribe is able to offer those games in the state. Card Player reported that local authorities assured earlier this month the Pensacola Greyhound Track & Poker Room and the Sarasota Kennel Club are operating unlicensed house-banked gaming services.
In total, both salons are equipped with 60 traditional poker tables, where players may be able to play blackjack, Three-Card Poker and Ultimate Texas Hold’em. Card games’ operations are banned outside Seminole six casinos in Florida.
Blackjack offerings in Florida have been regulated under a new agreement between the state’s government and the Seminole Tribe. Representatives of both parts announced the expected deal, which ended a two-year legal battle to determine the operating conditions of blackjack tables in Florida casinos.
The long dispute began when the previous agreement ended showing that both parts had violated it. Whilst the Seminole Tribe continued to offer blackjack tables in its casinos once its license lost validity after the five-year term, the State had allowed non-tribal gaming companies to operate pari-mutuel services.
