US.- The Michigan Gaming Control Board will meet in Detroit on Tuesday to give final approval for legal sports betting in the state as Detroit casinos get ready to open sports books ahead of March Madness.
The MGM Grand has already unveiled its Moneyline sports betting bar and has several sports betting kiosks installed and ready to take bets.
The “March Madness” NCAA tournament gets underway on March 17 and casinos are expecting to be able to accept in-person bets by then.
“The goal is for onsite sports betting to begin before March Madness,” Mary Kay Bean, communications Specialist for the Gaming Control Board, said.
State Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed sports betting into law in December, making Michigan the 20th state to legalise sports betting in the USSA.
