Wakayama extends RFP period by three months
The Japanese prefecture will extend its RFP period to select a partner for its IR bid until January 2021
Japan.- Wakayama prefecture has extended the deadline for request-for-proposal (RFP) submissions from potential private sector partners for its integrated resort bid by almost three months.
RFP submissions must now be made by January 15. The original deadline had been set for October but has been pushed back after the national government announced it was pushing back the timetable for IR bids by nine months.
National authorities are now due to start accepting bids from local governments in October 2021.
Three such integrated resorts will be permitted in Japan in a first phase of market liberalisation.
