The Star Sydney ups capacity limit
As of December 7, the famous Sydney casino will be allowed to host up to 10,000 customers.
Australia.- The Star Sydney will be allowed to drop its current capacity limit from next Monday and host up to 10,000 customers at a time.
The change comes as both New South Wales and Queensland state authorities relax Covid-19 measures.
Restrictions have been eased one person per 4 square meters to one person per 2 square meters. This means The Star will be allowed to host about 10,000 people instead of 1,800, and will be able to drop its current limit of 300 people per area.
The company the venue is still required to comply with social distancing rules regarding the space between gaming positions.
The Queensland government has also eased some of the operating restrictions that apply to the indoor areas of hospitality venues.
The Queensland casino will be able to turn on every gaming machine, and the maximum number of patrons per table has been increased from four to seven.
Patrons will also be allowed to stand while eating or consuming alcohol within the venue.
The Star Entertainment Group said: “The easing in operating restrictions across all three properties will enable us to welcome back additional employees as well as an increased number of our members and guests to safe and entertaining environments.
“The re-opening of the Queensland border to residents of Greater Sydney and Victoria from December 1, 2020 should enhance visitation to The Star Gold Coast property.”
