Sands China launches youth responsible gaming programme
The initiative was developed with the University of Macau and local community partners.
Macau.- Sands China has launched a Responsible Gaming Youth Talent Development Programme through its Sands Responsible Gaming Academy in Macau. The initiative is intended to develop young talent while supporting the Macau SAR government’s responsible gaming campaign, which has the slogan “Learn RG, Keep the Fun Alive.”
The programme is being delivered with the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming at the University of Macau and the Association of Volunteer Social Service Macao. It’s intended to provide local university students with opportunities to combine academic learning with hands-on experience while building professional knowledge.
Around 150 University of Macau students applied and 32 were selected. The project involves them developing responsible gaming initiatives from a youth perspective, producing projects focused on campus awareness campaigns, community education, gamified learning experiences, short-form video content and digital interactive tools.

To complement the programme, Sands China organised a four-day study visit to Singapore last month for a 23-member delegation representing the three partner organisations. Participants toured Marina Bay Sands and met with members of its operations team to discuss responsible gaming practices.
The delegation also visited the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) and community support organisation WE CARE. The company said its Sands Responsible Gaming Academy will continue working with academic institutions and community organisations to promote responsible gaming awareness and contribute to the long-term sustainable development of Macau’s integrated tourism and leisure industry.
