Nagasaki asks Casinos Austria to name IR partners
The Nagasaki Prefectural Government has asked Casinos Austria International Japan to deliver the names of all companies involved in its planned IR project.
Japan.- Doubts surrounding Nagasaki’s proposed integrated resort continue, and the Nagasaki Prefectural Government has now asked Casinos Austria International Japan to provide the names of all companies involved in its proposal. Nagasaki chose Casinos Austria International Japan as its private operator IR partner in August, but doubts have been raised over funding for the project.
Casinos Austria must propose a financing plan by the end of next month and form an effective consortium for its JPY350bn (US$3.2bn) proposed plan. The company has been asked to list the identities of all service providers and all companies that have expressed interest in making equity investments in the project.
A public consultation on the development of the IR will be held in February, one month later than planned. The county council’s vote on the plan is now scheduled to take place in March.
The Nagasaki Prefectural Government has previously said it expects the IR to open in 2027 and to generate annual gross gaming revenue (GGR) of JPY150bn (US$1.37bn).
