Malaysia: 58 arrested after police raid at entertainment venue
Malaysian police discovered a small casino inside an entertainment venue in Kuala Lumpur.
Malaysia.- Malaysian police discovered an illegal casino hidden inside an entertainment venue in southern Kuala Lumpur. The raid, which took place on January 18, led to 58 people being arrested in relation to the underground gambling den .
Police said that games being played included Sam Cheong and Tau Ngau, with customers placing bets in excess of US$3,700.
Police Assistant Commissioner Mohd Hedzir Hussin said all the suspects were taken to the Serdang police headquarters for further questioning.
“The suspects were aged between 19 to 40 years old. Checks showed that the entertainment outlet had a valid license, until April 13, which was issued by MPSJ (local council),” he added.
