Macau strengthens quarantine for town in Chengdu
A town in Chengdu is now on “high alert” and Chinese authorities have ordered mass testing.
Macau.- The Macau SAR Government has extended the 14-day quarantine requirement for visitors arriving from Pitong Town in Chengdu or that have been in the area in the past 14 days.
Chinese authorities have ordered mass testing and lockdowns in Chengdu after six new cases of Covid-19 were reported this week. Over 21,000 people have undergone Covid-19 testing since Monday.
Since the Individual Visit Scheme (IVS) system returned for all mainland China on September 23, Macau has been imposing focused quarantines for visitors from areas considered high risk.
Until Tuesday, this was the case of specific areas in Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai and Chengdu.
