Macau received 95,700 visitors in the first six days of Chinese New Year

Macau.- Authorities in Macau have reported that Macau welcomed nearly 95,700 tourists in the first six days of the Chinese New Year holiday. The average number of tourists was about 15,949 per day, an increase of 23.2 per cent over the same period in 2021.

A representative of the Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) previously told local media he expected Macau to receive 20,000 daily visitors during the Chinese New Year Golden Week

The number of tourists visiting the mainland in the first six days of the long holiday this year was 89,245, an increase of 26.5 per cent over the same period last year. Mainland China is currently the only place with a quarantine-free travel arrangement with Macau.

According to the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), in 2021, the city welcomed a total of 90,615 visitors, with a daily average number of 12,945 tourists.
