Macau: quarterly increase in games of fortune revenue
The DICJ has reported a 51 per cent quarterly increase in VIP baccarat revenues and a 71 per cent jump for mass baccarat.
Macau.- Gross revenues from games of fortune totalled MOP4.8 billion (US$601 million) for Q3 2020, up from MOP3.2 billion (US$400 million) in the previous quarter.
Baccarat represented 86 per cent of revenue at MOP4.2 billion (US$526 million), according to data released by the Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ).
Both VIP and mass baccarat were up from the second quarter, reaching MOP2.3 billion (US$288 million, up 51 per cent) and MOP 1.8 billion (US$225 million, up 71 per cent) respectively.
Despite the increases, VIP baccarat is still 92.5 per cent behind last year’s third quarter results. Mass baccarat is down 94 per cent.
Slot machine revenues reached MOP375 million (US$47 million) in Q3, down from MOP432 million (US$54.1 million) in the second quarter of 2020, and down 90.2 per cent year-on-year.
Gaming tables in Macau increased to 5,990, up from 5,869 at the end of June, and the number of slot machines rose from 7,595 in the past quarter to 8,244.
