Grand Korea Leisure casino revenue rises year-on-year
Grand Korea Leisure’s casino sales reached KRW30.64bn in May.
South Korea.- Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has shared its financial results for the month of May. The company posted casino sales of KRW30.64bn (US$22.3m), up 4 per cent in year-on-year terms but down 15.3 per cent sequentially.
Table-game revenue was KRW27.11bn (US$ 19.73m), up 1.9 per cent year-on-year but down 17.5 per cent sequentially. Machine game sales were KRW3.53bn (US$ 2.57m), up 24.1 per cent year-on-year and up 6.3 per cent compared to the previous month.
For the first five months of the year, casino sales were up 12.5 per cent in year-on-year terms to KRW175.06bn (US$ 127.41m). The casino drop was KRW1.44tn (US$ 1.05bn), down 7.7 per cent when compared to last year.
GKL operates three foreigner-only casinos under the Seven Luck brand: Two in the capital, Seoul, including one in Gangnam, and the other in the southeastern port city of Busan. The company operates as a subsidiary of the Korea Tourism Organization, which is affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

In November, the casino operator named Yoon Doo Hyun as president. He served in South Korea’s National Assembly during its 21st term from May 2020 to May 2024 and held the role of senior secretary for public relations at the Office of the President between 2014 and 2015.
