Casinos in Macau: 26 gaming machine suppliers approved for 2025

Only one new operator has been added.

Macau.- The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) has published its list of approved gaming machine manufacturers and distributors for 2025. Some 26 operators were approved, one more than last year.

The updated list includes Aristocrat, Light & Wonder, IGT, Konami, and Sega Sammy Creation. Distributors RGB and Asia Pioneer Entertainment (APE) were also approved to operate. Empire Technological Group, which got its licence from DICJ last May, is on the list again this year. ACP, licensed in December, is also on the list. Meanwhile, FBM, a long-time player in the industry, is not included this year and SYNOT Group, which was on the list in 2024, is also absent.

The approved suppliers and distributors can provide gaming machines to Macau casinos until March 31, 2026 under Administrative Regulation No 26/2012. With DICJ approval, they can also display non-commercial gaming machines for training or exhibition purposes.

Macau GGR reaches US$2.37bn in first 16 days of March, JP Morgan says

Analysts at JP Morgan have estimated that Macau’s gross gaming revenue (GGR) for the first 16 days of March was MOP19bn (US$2.37bn). The estimated GGR run rate was MOP631m (US$78.9m) per day.

Analysts DS KimMufan Shi and Selina Li said GGR was “largely stable at MOP621m (US$77.6m) per day last week.” Mass GGR is performing at over 110 per cent of pre-Covid-19 levels, while VIP revenue remains in the low 20 per cent range, consistent with trends seen in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Analysts have forecast that March GGR will be flattish year-on-year at around MOP19bn (-2 per cent to 0 per cent). This would leave GGR for the first quarter flat year-on-year. Analysts anticipate GGR growth in the second half due to easier year-on-year comparisons, predicting a 5 to 6 per cent increase compared to no growth in the first half. This would result in around 3 per cent growth for the full year.

GGR for February was MOP19.74bn (US$2.46bn). That’s an increase of 6.8 per cent in year-on-year terms and a rise of 8.2 per cent sequentially. GGR was 77.8 per cent of February 2019’s level. Cumulatively, GGR for the first two months of 2024 was MOP38bn, up 0.5 per cent from the prior-year period.
