Aquis Entertainment has announced the temporary closure of Casino Canberra due to the Australian Capital Territory’s new Covid-19 countermeasures.

Australia.- The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has announced new measures leading to the temporary closure of Casino Canberra, a venue operated by Aquis Entertainment Limited.

A seven-day closure was announced by the casino operator on Thursday after ACT reported four new Covid-19 cases after more than a year without local cases. Authorities said the lockdown will be lifted only if there is no increase in cases.

Last year, the casino was shut for almost four months due to lockdown measures. the company cut around 90% of its total workforce last March.

Meanwhile, Reef Casino Trust‘s property in Cairns has closed until next Wednesday due to countermeasures there and Star Sydney will remain closed until August 28 after the New South Wales government announced an extension of Covid-19 countermeasures.

In Melbourne, Crown Resorts initially ceased operations until August 12 under a 7-day lockdown imposed by the Victorian government, but now says it will be closed until further notice.
