Casino Canberra reopens after lockdown

Aquis Entertainment’s casino had been shut for almost four months due to lockdown measures.

Australia.- Casino Canberra has reopened its doors to the public.

The Aquis Entertainment Limited casino will open seven days a week, from noon until 4am, according to an announcement on its website.

The company is requesting guests and players keep a 1.5-metre distance from one another, use hand sanitizer regularly and go through a temperature check upon entry.

Patrons will only be served alcohol while seated, and there will be a limited capacity of 100 people per defined area, excluding staff, and a limit of one person per four square metres of usable space.

Staff currently on stand down will be called back depending on the role and the permitted capacity limits. The firm made some job cuts in March due to the closure of the casino.

The firm said in the announcement: “You can be assured that our focus remains on the health and safety of our patrons, employees and the community”.
