Cambodian casino reopens with safety measures
Ha Tien Vegas, located near the border with Vietnam, is now open under strict Covid-19 protocols.
Cambodia.- Ha Tien Vegas casino has reopened to the public. The casino near Cambodia’s border with Vietnam reopened on Friday (September 18).
Casinos in Cambodia were shut in April due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They have been able to apply to reopen since July on passing a Health Ministry inspection.
Ha Tien Vegas advised customers it would have “strong anti-Covid measures in place” including obligatory use of face masks, social distancing requirements, temperature checks and sanitizing measures.
It said: “Safety for our customers and staff is our top priority. We operate following the government’s social distancing guidelines and all staff have been trained to keep you safe.”
The casino promised to give away hundreds of vouchers at its reopening.
Cambodians are not allowed to gamble, and Ha Tien Vegas’ clientele usually comprises mainly Vietnamese players. Casinos in Cambodia fear the country may be hit by China’s decision to black list gambling destinations.
