Guinea’s National Lottery backs football Cup final with youth focus
LONAGUI links its football Cup sponsorship to supporting young people and communities as the competition reaches the final.
Guinea.- Guinea’s National Lottery (LONAGUI) is linking its sponsorship of the country’s professional football League Cup to youth development and social cohesion as the competition reaches its final.
LONAGUI is an official sponsor of the competition alongside the Guinean Professional Football League (LGFP). The lottery said the semi-finals demonstrated the growing maturity of professional football in Guinea and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the country’s youth, in a statement.
The lottery said its involvement forms part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. LONAGUI said: “Beyond athletic performance, this event embodies a major lever for emancipation and social cohesion for our country.”
FC Séquence de Dixinn and RCC Kamsar will contest the 2025/26 LONAGUI League Cup final after respective semi-final wins over Loubha FC and Gangan FC. The tournament is in its third edition.
LONAGUI’s involvement builds on its financial backing of the competition. In January, the lottery said its Marketing, Communication and Corporate Social Responsibility teams had worked with the LGFP technical committee on the tournament and that its financial support had helped bring the League Cup back for two consecutive years.
LONAGUI said its role in the competition reflects its commitment to developing Guinean sport and supporting young people. “Developing national sport means investing directly in Guinea’s human capital,” the lottery said.
The football sponsorship comes alongside other recent LONAGUI initiatives. On August 3, the lottery launched its fourth scholarship programme, offering 15 fully funded master’s scholarships, including dedicated awards for women and disadvantaged students.
In July, LONAGUI also provided financial support to the Union of People with Albinism of Faranah to fund sunscreen for people living with albinism. The initiative was presented as part of the lottery’s CSR programme and its support for community wellbeing.
