Guinea’s National Lottery backs public health initiative for people with albinism
National lottery has provided financial support to help fund sunscreen for people living with albinism in Faranah as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.
Guinea.- Guinea’s National Lottery (LONAGUI) has provided financial support to the Union of People with Albinism of Faranah (UPAAF) to fund the purchase of sunscreen for people living with albinism, reinforcing the lottery’s commitment to community wellbeing through its corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme.
According to LONAGUI, the funding will support the acquisition of sunscreen for people living with albinism, who are especially vulnerable to UV radiation.
In a statement, the lottery said: “This funding helps address a critical public health need. Faced with the risks associated with high exposure to the sun, access to appropriate sun protection is essential to preserve the health and improve the living conditions of the beneficiaries.”
Those affected are particularly vulnerable to sun damage and skin cancer, making access to sunscreen an essential health measure.
LONAGUI said the donation reflects its commitment to delivering meaningful social impact and improving the wellbeing of communities across Guinea, adding: “Through this support, we reaffirm our commitment to useful social responsibility, based on support for initiatives that have a social impact and serve Guinean communities.” Financial details of the donation were not disclosed.
The initiative highlights LONAGUI’s commitment to reinvesting revenue from its lottery and betting operations into public health and community development projects. As Guinea’s state-owned national lottery, the operator says it allocates a portion of its profits to social and community development initiatives through its CSR programme.
