Botswana.- Botswana’s Grand Palm Casino served as the host venue for a high-profile fundraising gala to rebuild classrooms destroyed by recent floods and assist learners with developmental challenges. The beneficiary, the Camphill Community Trust, is a non-profit organisation that provides specialised schooling, vocational training and care for children and adults with learning difficulties and related disabilities.

The Casino said: “We’re honored to support the Camphill Community Trust Fundraising Gala Dinner, hosted at our Glass Marquee, as part of our continued commitment to making a difference in our community.

The event, themed “Building a Classroom of Dignity for Our Learners”, was attended by Acting President Ndaba Gaolathe, highlighting the Trust’s mission and the casino’s role in supporting students.

According to The Grand Palm, its support extended beyond hosting. “Over and above hosting the event, we’ve also proudly onboarded some Camphill learners to work across various departments at our property – helping them gain hands-on experience and skills for their future. Together, we’re building more than classrooms, we’re building opportunities, confidence and brighter futures,” said the casino.

The gala demonstrated the impact of corporate-community partnerships, combining fundraising, skills development and advocacy for learners. According to The Grand Palm, proceeds from the evening will go toward rebuilding classrooms, helping the Camphill Community Trust continue providing learners in Botswana with safe, empowering spaces to grow and thrive.
