Bettomax and Liberia Football Association forge landmark partnership to launch Champions Cup
Three-year deal strengthens corporate backing and elevates Liberian football with inaugural pre-season tournament.
Liberia.- Bettomax and the Liberia Football Association (LFA) have sealed a major three-year partnership to launch the Bettomax Champions Cup, a pre-season tournament designed to elevate Liberian football and strengthen corporate support in the game.
Bettomax Liberia’s Operations Manager, Fallah Briama, at the signing ceremony on August 15, said: “This is not just about football; it’s about building something lasting for Liberia. Football is a passion that unites the people, and at Bettomax, we see it as our responsibility to invest in the game’s future.”
Vice president of the LFA, Prof. Sekou Konneh, described the partnership as “a blessing” and a blueprint for future corporate involvement: “This is a very good opportunity that will be created as part of our partnership. Corporate support, when structured effectively, can transform the landscape of Liberian football.”
The partnership solidifies Bettomax Liberia’s role as a key driver in the nation’s football ecosystem. Already sponsors of Watanga FC (Men’s First Division) and Shaita Angels FC (Women’s Upper League), Bettomax has also consistently demonstrated a commitment to social responsibility through monthly $1,000 donations to hospitals and orphanages across Liberia.
Inclusive football at Bettomax Champions Cup

Bettomax Liberia’s Gaming Commercial Manager, Livia Popescu, outlined the company’s vision for inclusive football.
“Bettomax operates on a structured blueprint, not on day-to-day opinions, and expansion to include women’s clubs is already part of the tournament’s long-term plan. When we sponsored Watanga FC, no one asked us to add a women’s team, yet we did so on our own initiative. The same principle applies here,” she said.
The inaugural Bettomax Champions Cup kicks off on August 23, featuring the top eight teams from last season’s LFA Men’s First Division. The official draw took place on August 15 at the LFA headquarters, confirming the participating teams.
Cash prizes total over $30,000, with the champions taking home $10,000 and every team receiving at least $2,000. Teams are divided into two groups, with the top two advancing to the semifinals. Winners will compete in the grand final, while losing semifinalists battle for third place.
With strong corporate backing, a structured tournament and plans for inclusive expansion to women’s football, the Bettomax Champions Cup marks a new era of collaboration, investment and competitiveness in Liberian football.
