Bettomax Liberia stakes on community with Independence Day donation
Betting giant marks the country’s Independence Day with a heartfelt donation, turning celebration into meaningful aid for the underprivileged.
Liberia.- Bettomax is proving sports betting is about more than just the game in Liberia. This Independence Day, the company donated essential supplies to Christ Our Hope Orphanage, bringing relief and assistance to vulnerable children.
The orphanage in Paynesville received a vital gift of $1,000 worth of food and essential supplies to support both the children and the staff who care for them. Joining Bettomax in this initiative was upper league female football club Shaita Angels.
The donation was made on July 26, Liberia’s 178th Independence Day, a significant occasion that marks nearly two centuries of freedom since 1847 and is celebrated annually. Beyond being a leading betting company, Bettomax wants to show its commitment to the communities in the country.
“We don’t just operate a business, we’re part of the Liberian community,” said Fallah Briama, Operational Manager of Bettomax, according to FPA. “Supporting children, especially orphans, is close to our hearts. This isn’t a one-time thing. We’ve worked with hospitals, less fortunate and now again with our partners at Shaita Angels and Christ Our Hope.”
Where sport meets purpose
Bettomax and Shaita Angels have previously donated to several orphanages across Liberia, reinforcing their ongoing commitment to community outreach and social impact.
Shaita Angels vice president Ricky Teah reflected on football’s broader role off the pitch. “As women athletes, we believe in inspiring change. Through partnerships like this, we are showing that sports can uplift lives, touch hearts and build stronger communities”, she said. Teah praised Bettomax as “partners on purpose” not just sponsors.
Christ Our Hope Orphanage administrator Evans Bimba expressed deep gratitude for the timely support. “Our children may not have families of their own, but on a day like this, they felt loved, seen and celebrated,” said Bimba. Calling on other Liberian businesses to follow suit, he said: “True independence means lifting others.”
The donation ceremony was filled with patriotism and joy as Shaita Angels players shared games and stories with the children, celebrating Liberia’s 178 years of freedom, according to Bimba. “Seeing the girls in their jerseys playing with the kids brought tears to my eyes. This is what Liberia needs more of – love in action,” he said.
Bettomax’s Independence Day effort sets a powerful example for gambling companies across Africa: betting on community, compassion, and change.
