Wyoming Downs and 307 Horse Racing break ground on new gaming venue
The new venue will feature 600 historic horse racing (HHR) machines, simulcast horse betting and a variety of dining options.
US.- Wyoming Downs and 307 Horse Racing have broken ground on an $80m gaming and entertainment facility in southern Laramie County, Wyoming. Located east of Interstate 25 at Exit 2, the 58,000-square-foot facility will host 600 historic horse racing (HHR) machines, simulcast horse betting, and a variety of dining options.
Community leaders, elected officials, and representatives from the offices of US Sen. Cynthia Lummis and US Rep. Harriet Hageman attended the groundbreaking ceremony. The companies said the venue would create more than 150 long-term jobs and generate approximately $3m in tax revenue annually once fully up and running.
Wyoming sports betting handle rises in March
The Wyoming Gaming Commission (WGC) recently reported that the state’s sports betting handle was $28.5m in March. That represents an increase of 36.3 per cent year-over-year and 54 per cent from February 2026. Gross gaming revenue (GGR) totalled $2m.
DraftKings led the market with a $19m handle and $734,764 in GGR, followed by FanDuel with a $4.9m handle and $121,363 in GGR. BetMGM posted a $2m handle and $307,285 in GGR, Fanatics $1.4m and $121,363, and Caesars $1.2m and $307,285. Taxable gaming revenue was $1.6m.
