Washington DC sports betting revenue drops in February
Sports betting revenue in Washington DC amounted to $740,542 in February, down 43 per cent year-on-year.
US.- In February, sports betting revenue in Washington DC hit its lowest monthly figure since July 2020. At $740,542, DC revenue was down 43 per cent year-on-year and down 63 per cent from the $2m reported in January .
The sports betting handle increased however, up 25.7 per cent year-on-year to $19.1m with DC now home to doubled the number of sportsbooks as 12 months ago.
Generating $440,409 in revenue from $3.9m in total bets, Gambet, operated by the DC Lottery and powered by Intralot, was the leading operator last month in terms of revenue. Meanwhile, Caesars, which operates an online sportsbook and a retail offering at the Capital One Arena, took the most bets, with $11.3m in wagers although only $60,924 in revenue.
BetMGM, partner of Major League Baseball team the Washington Nationals, posted $189,577 in revenue off $3.5m in bets, and Grand Central Restaurant, Bar and Sportsbook, which offers sports betting in DC through a partnership with Elys Game Technology, followed with $49,632 in revenue from a handle of $399,555.
