Virginia casino revenue rises in May

Revenue increased 26.9 per cent from the same month in 2025.

US.- Virginia’s five licensed casinos reported combined revenue of US$108.4m in May, up 26.9 per cent year-on-year. Slots generated US$79.6m of the total and table games US$28.8m. The state collected US$19.5m in taxes paid to the Gaming Proceeds Fund.

Caesars Virginia led the market with US$38m in adjusted gross revenue (AGR), with US$27m came from slots and US$11m from table games. Rivers Casino Portsmouth reported US$30.2m in revenue, US$21.6m from slots and US$8.6m from tables. Hard Rock Bristol posted US$24.2m in AGR, with US$19.3m from slots and US$4.9m from table games. Live! Casino Virginia, which opened in January, posted US$14.9m in AGR, with US$10.7 from slots and US$4.2m from table games. The Interim Gaming Hall Norfolk, which opened in November 2025, generated US$1.08m from slots.

Abigail Spanberger, Virginia governor, has appointed Kevin Hall to serve as executive director of the Virginia Lottery. Hall previously served in the role from 2018 to 2022, during which time the Lottery launched its iLottery platform and implemented sports betting and casino regulatory programmes.
