Nevada casino net income decline in fiscal year 2025
Net income decreased 34.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
US.- The Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB) has announced that casinos generated $1.7bn in net income during fiscal year 2025. That’s down 34.8 per cent compared to the same period in 2024.
The board’s Nevada Gaming Abstract 2025 shows that the state’s 305 casinos grossing $1m or more in gaming revenue combined for $30.8bn in total revenue, down 2.2 per cent. Of that total, gaming accounted for 36.4 per cent. These casinos paid $1.1bn in gaming taxes and fees.
Clark County had 177 casinos grossing at least $1m in gaming revenue, generating net income of $1.5bn, down 34.7 per cent from the same period in 2024. The Las Vegas Strip saw a net income decline of 81.2 per cent.
Washoe County’s 34 casinos reported a combined net income of $84.8m, down 50 per cent, from total revenue of $1.7bn, up 0.5 per cent.
The 22 casinos in Elko County registered $93.4m in net income, up 1.6 per cent. South Shore Lake Tahoe in Douglas County, with 7 licensees, reported a net loss of $50m, up 65.1 per cent. The Carson Valley Area, with 15 casinos, generated net income of $24.3m, up 2 per cent.
In April 2026, the state’s casinos generated $1.3bn in revenue, according to the NGCB. That’s an increase of 5.3 per cent year-on-year but down from $1.43bn in March.
Las Vegas visits decline in April
The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA) recently reported that 3.28 million people visited Las Vegas in April. That’s a 1.8 per cent decrease year-over-year.
The hotel occupancy for the month reached 83.1 per cent, down 1.5 points. Weekend occupancy was 92.7 per cent, down 1.1 points and midweek occupancy 79.5 per cent, down 1.7 points. Convention attendance increased by 3.2 per cent to 592,100, supported by recurring shows like NAB and the Google NEXT conference and the return of rotating shows, including the Coverings tradeshow.
