Virginia casino revenue decreases in April

Revenue totalled $78.8m, down 7.6 per cent from March.

US.- The Virginia Lottery has released its monthly report on casino gaming activity at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol, Rivers Casino Portsmouth and Caesars Virginia. Gaming revenue in April totalled $78.8m, down 7.6 per cent from March’s $85.2m. Slot revenue reached $59.5m, while table games revenue was $19.1m.

Caesars Virginia reported $32.4m in adjusted gross gaming revenue, $23.7m from 1,483 slot machines and $8.6m from 100 table games. Rivers Casino Portsmouth generated $25.2m: $18.3m from its 1,419 slots and $6.8m from 84 table games. Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol generated $21m: $17.4m from 1,437 slots and $3.6m from 73 table games.

The state collected $14.2m in taxes. Statute specifies distributions to the Problem Gambling Treatment and Support Fund, the Family and Children’s Trust Fund, and the host city. For the Bristol casino, the portion of taxes reserved for the host city go to the Regional Improvement Commission (RIC).

Virginia sports betting handle was $689.6m in March, up 8.5 per cent year-over-year and up 23.8 per cent from February’s $556.8m. Mobile wagers reached $683.1m while bettors wagered $6.5m at retail locations.
