Vermont sports betting handle decreases in April

US.- Vermont’s sports betting handle totalled $16.2m in April, down 29.3 per cent from March’s $22.9m and 5.3 per cent year-over-year. Adjusted gross wagering revenue was $1.5m, down from March’s $1.2m. Winnings reached $14.5m.
According to Vermont’s Department for Liquor and Lottery, basketball led the market with $4.6m in bets, followed by baseball with $2.9m, soccer with $1.8m, tennis with $754.037 and ebasketball with $505.985.
Of the total handle, $12.9m was wagered in Vermont and $3.3m out of state. There were 15,269 active users, 9,766 in the state, and 5,503 out of state. The number of bets reached 666,043, with 554,669 in Vermont and 118,374 out-of-state.
Vermont’s online sports betting market opened in January 2024, with DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics Sportsbook operating mobile sports wagering platforms. Governor Phil Scott signed HB 127 into law in June 2023.
