Craig Billings attributed the delay to logistical challenges linked to the Iran conflict.

UAE.- Wynn Resorts has confirmed a slight delay to its Wynn Al Marjan Island project in Ras Al Khaimah that may push the opening beyond its original timeline.

Speaking during the company’s Q1 earnings call, CEO Craig Billings said the disruption is mainly linked to conflict-related pressures in the region, including shipping delays and adjustments to material sourcing.

Billings said the delay is expected to be modest and that the company will provide a clearer revised timeline in the coming months. However, he confirmed that construction work is continuing on site despite the challenges.

The casino resort was previously scheduled to open in Q1 2027, but Billings said a new timeline will be shared once the impact of current conditions becomes clearer.

Billings added that the company is monitoring conditions in the Gulf region closely and has taken additional steps to manage supply chain risks while maintaining safety standards on site. He noted that higher shipping costs linked to the disruption are not expected to have a material impact on the project budget.

The US$5bn development, being built in partnership with Marjan, remains under active construction with over 22,000 workers on site. Wynn has already committed US$1bn to the project, including more than $100m invested during Q1 2026.
