Wynn Al Marjan unveils 550-metre beachfront at UAE’s first casino resort
Wynn Al Marjan Island’s new Wynn Beach features a sheltered lagoon, a 319-metre offshore reef and three distinct beach environments ahead of the resort’s September 2027 opening.
Wynn Al Marjan Island has completed and unveiled its 550-metre beachfront, sheltered lagoon and 319-metre offshore reef as the integrated resort prepares to house the UAE’s first casino when it opens in September 2027.
In a press release published yesterday (August 11), Wynn Resorts said the waterfront marks the company’s first beachfront destination and forms Wynn Beach, stretching more than half a kilometre along Ras Al Khaimah’s Arabian Gulf coastline. The shoreline combines white sand and deep beaches with a sheltered lagoon, while submerged rock formations frame the waterfront on both sides.
Max Tappeiner, president of Wynn Al Marjan Island, said: “Our ambition was to create a shoreline where guests can escape-somewhere they can swim in calm, clear water and enjoy the beachfront in complete privacy.”
The lagoon will offer swimming, snorkelling, paddleboarding and kayaking, while Wynn Beach will be divided into three distinct environments: Resort Beach, Adult Beach and Enclave Beach.
The beachfront will feature 61 cabanas, 372 chaise longues and three bungalows, including a private bungalow with its own plunge pool and butler service.
Offshore, the 319-metre reef comprises engineered reef units installed to support the development of a marine habitat. Wynn said coral and marine life have already begun taking hold around the reef, while ospreys nest nearby.
Wynn said Ras Al Khaimah’s wider marine environment includes 21 diving sites, including natural reefs and shipwrecks. The company said protected marine sanctuaries throughout the region support Indian Ocean humpback dolphins, hawksbill, green and loggerhead turtles, marbled electric rays and more than 500 species of fish.
The resort is located less than 50 miles from Dubai International Airport and will feature 1,530 rooms and suites, 22 restaurants, lounges and bars, a state-of-the-art theatre, five-star spa, designer boutiques, events and celebration spaces, expansive poolscapes, an entertainment beach club and a private beach.
The new beachfront forms part of Wynn Al Marjan Island, which is being developed as the UAE’s first integrated resort with gaming facilities.
The beachfront milestone follows other recent development activity at Wynn Al Marjan Island and its surrounding projects. In July, Wynn Resorts and Marjan began construction on Janu Al Marjan Island, a second joint venture adjacent to the resort scheduled to open in early 2029. Wynn also unveiled a 15,000-square-metre logistics centre designed to support engineering, inventory, security, uniform distribution and crisis-response operations ahead of the resort’s opening.
The project’s budget has risen by US$600m to approximately US$5.7bn, with the September 2027 opening also reported previously. Wynn has said it plans to launch the hotel, gaming facilities and other amenities as a complete destination.
